Why and why now?

When we tell people (friends, family and others) that we are currently quitting our jobs (again), that we do not live in our own house anymore and that we plan travelling through Europe in 2021 in our (not yet ready) converted campervan, before emigrating to the South of Germany - most of them react pretty enthusiast and tell us, that that is a cool idea. And an adventure.
Of course, not everyone is as enthusiastic as others (I know, mom) and with good reasons as well. Questions rise like:
'You are doing the same thing again?' 'Will you ever be able to settle down?' 'Is not it too risky to leave everything behind in this uncertain time?'
Our answer to all of those questions is: 'Yes'.
Yes, we are doing the same thing again. Yes, once, we will be able to settle down - it is something we are working on ;) and of course it is risky to leave everything behind right now!
But, what life taught us all this year - unfortunately the hard way: Life is not predictable.
Plan A
Rick and I had a certain plan in our minds and if that plan would have worked out, it would have kept us busy for a all long time in the future: Creating a real family by having children. That did not work out in the first place and 'The trying to have kids' was in fact the reason to travel in 2017. We simply needed a break from the treatment. Best decision ever :) What a year!
After we came back, we tried to find a way back to our lives in the Netherlands. We went back to work, lived like we used to live and we 'tried once more'. The bitter lesson in the end: One cannot force his luck. We needed a new plan - a new mission in life to focus on.
Plan B
Which brings us to now. After months of thinking and talking the decision was made:
We want something else. Something different. Somewhere different.
We want to leave the Netherlands with the goal to live close to or even in the mountains in the future.
How do we want to achieve this? By starting to emigrate (well for me being German it is more going back) to Germany - and more precisely - by moving to Munich end of 2021. But, before, we would like to take the opportunity to go roadtripping through Europe in 'Puck', our Peugeot Boxer Campervan.
Plan B would have been easier without the 'small thing' happening right now: the Corona thing. Corona does make things more complicated and more risky but we took the decision now and, as life is unpredictable, we will somehow manage. We always have and we always will.
Liefs, Constanze & Rick.
I’am sure you will accomplish this adventure. Two easygoing people will meet new friendships and will settle down in Munich when you reach your retirement!
